Mr. M. Tahir SARIOGLU, the founder of Sarioglu Shipping, was graduated from The Merchant Marine Academy in 1974. Mr. Sarioglu, who started his maritime career as an officer, served as first mate, vessel master on vessels with Turkish and foreign flags and as pilot at various ports and Turkish Straits.
Mr. M. Tahir SARIOGLU, who had been deeply fond of every segment of maritime business, decided to continue his career predominantly on land operations of the industry in view of the realization of his projects; however he did not ever stay apart from the sea even for a day and continued to assume critical field positions such as sunken rescuing, operations management, and agency management while, yet, he saved time to successfully complete the related program to be awarded with the Master’s degree in Maritime Business Administration in order to be capable of combining the practical knowledge with the theoretical information.
In December, 1995, he established SARIOGLU Shipping, to start his own business where he could valuate his precious experiences, specialism and deep knowledge. The seed sowed then has, by present, grown into a robust group of companies operating in many segments of maritime business such as shipping line operation, ship management, agency business, brokerage, chartering, insurance, surveillance and surveying services etc.
